Rover, the number one site for sitters to avoid.

We were contacted recently by Helping Survivors, an organisation that’s mission is to assist anyone who has been victimized by sexual assault or abuse whilst doing a job they love.

Very sadly pet sitters and dog walkers are being targeted through Rover, and numerous pet care givers have become victims of sexual voilence whilst trying to provide pet services.

The reported incidents include groping, undisclosed recordings, and sexual assaults.

If you have suffered any forms of sexual violence, Helping Survivors encourages you to check out their website.

You can find all different types of support there, but most importantly you will be encouraged to seek justice and compensation.

How does The Animal Days, do it differently?

The safety of our pet sitters is paramount, and 100% equal with the safety and care of the pets we look after.

However, we have a 0% tolerance to any such crimes. And our Pet Sitters will be supported and removed from any scenario which they deem uncomfortable and unsafe.

  • We ask our customers to provide photo’s of the home that our Sitters would be staying in

  • All clients must disclose if there are any cameras in the property. We politely request that during a pet sitters stay with you, you agree to turn off internal cameras. The Pet Sitter is encouraged to check disconnection on arrival.

  • All communications are handled by our office based team, for general enquiries we ask that you contact the main line, as your Pet Sitter does not need to maintain contact with any customers outside of a booking.

  • For any new pet sitting requests, we may ask additional questions during your onboarding to ensure our Pet Sitters are kept safe from harm.

If you would like to discuss the above process please feel free to email us your question.
